New Baby Quilt... Have you been to the ZOO?

I can't believe it's been 3 weeks since my last post!!  I have been busy making baby quilts.  Daughter #1 has some friends that are having babies and she asked that I make a few for her.  The first one is another version of my farm animal quilt: I think this is my most favorite version so far, mainly because of the fabric that I found for the back: I've been thinking that a nice addition to my baby quilts would be a zoo themed one.  And since Daughter #1 has a good friend that is using zoo animals as her theme for her baby room, it was perfect timing.   So I started out with these drawings back in August: And it became this: And using the same striping idea: How fun is that?   I plan to add this one to my Etsy Store as well.  It turned out so much better than I had dreamed. 

My love affair with M6102

My love affair with M6102 continues: My most recent version is this double sided knit that I found at Joann's: I used the stripes for the dress and the polka dot side for the neck binding which I thought added some nice contrast: The back side has a deeper cut which I copied from a dress that I purchased from Land's End.  I just loved how it looked and on a hot day that deeper cut in the back sure can make a difference!  I think I need to add a shoulder bra strap holder to keep the shoulders from slipping. You can see how I finished the neck with a more traditional binding.  I just like the look and feel of this method so much better. My serger wasn't working too well the day I did this but I just didn't want to take the time to work on the tension.  I just wanted to get this dress done! I have one more piece that I want to make using this pattern and then I might be done until next spring! Fall is just around the corner so I am trying to t
