Road Trip

We took a road trip to Huntsville, Al. earlier this month.  Mom needed to go back home and check on things at her house.  The wonderful thing about this trip is that we literally go by Hancock of Paducha!!  I know... how great is that.  We always stop on they way there and on the way back! This place is a feast for the eyes!  The quilts are just amazing. And there is fabric as far as the eye can see!  There are lots of people working and you realize that they are all pulling fabric and cutting fabric to full fulling many of their online orders.  Every time I stop I say I am not going to buy anything, I am just going to look...and of course that never happens. I tried to just concentrate on fabric I would need for my Etsy quilt. I think I did a good job of restraining myself! And since there was lots of driving involved,  I did mange to finish another chemo hat!

What happened to November?

Wow so much has happened this month!   Where do I start? Well first of all the Royals won the World Series! During the final game I got my knitting out to ease my nerves.  At the 7th inning this happened....so I started another hat! It was a marvelous series !   And then there was a parade like no other!    We did not go... look at all of those people!!  Imagine trying to find a bathroom... nope watching from afar was good enough for me! I extended my cancer hat knitting to November.  I ended up with 7 hats, 3 went to a good friend, 2 others went to friends who wanted them for their friends and another went to a breast cancer survivor.  I have 2 left that I will donate.  This was so much fun and I was so happy to help others out. I am averaging about 2 baby quilts a month so that has kept me busy.  This month there were a few more than usual..   I made this for one of my good friend's d...

I've been busy

Well I've been so busy the last couple of weeks that I haven't had time to post.  So I guess I'll have quite a bit to post in the next couple of days. I have an Etsy site.   Did you know that?  It's pretty small, not whole lot and mostly custom orders.  My kids keep me pretty busy with their requests, but everyone once in awhile someone will order from me and it always makes me feel so good that someone really likes my stuff well enough to pay for it! I just sent this off about 2 weeks ago: The customer requested some personalization and I think it turned out pretty well. My daughter ordered this one for her good friend: I just love making these.  I don't think I can ever get tired of making them. I also have some other things.  I found some wonderful K-State fabric and of course had to turn them into baby burp cloths: Now I wish I had bought the whole bolt!  I also have some with a fabulous purple chevron:  Goo...
