Mini Me!

I tried (and I tried very loosely) to make this little number this past week.... Vogue 8815   It was a horrible disaster. I am trying to see if I can salvage it but I am not sure. Meanwhile I have learned that you must always always make a muslin!! It just saves you so much time. And you should have a dummy of yourself! While it may not be pretty and you may not like how you look, it is essential in getting the perfect!       With a little padding here, a little padding there and a favorite bra....let's hope this helps out in some better fitting garments!!     Posted with Blogsy

It's Friday!

It is Friday and I can hardly wait!  Been  a little busy lately, trying to get things done an trying to organize my huge sewing to-do list.  Where do I start?  What do I do?? Joann's had big sale on Vogue and Simplicity patterns, so I loaded up this week.   I have this lovely piece of black double knit that I've been waiting to sew.  I picked these little gems and hopefully I'll create something.  So let's see what I come up with! Vogue 8873 Vogue 8886, perhaps make the top a dress
Guess what this little ball of yarn will create? Two sets of these!! One ball of yarn from the stash is gone.... and yet hardly a dent has been made.   What's the next stash bust? Baby UGG Booties!!   "Mo m,  wh en I have a baby they are going to wear one of these with a pair of tights and a little North Fa c e jacket...just saying..."   And since she is only 17, I think I need to find a baby to model th ese .  It will be awhile before she has one of her own for me to use as a model! Now to just get that ETSY site set up....oh wait the knitting needles are calling.....
Well this blog has been around for quite awhile and I've never posted on it because I never really new how to start...well here goes. You can read about me by checking out my profile. My blog is called KnitSew4Hope because I have my own little non-profit.  I've realized that my need to craft/create isn't because I necessarily need or want the end product but it is because I love the process of creating.  I call it my "therapy".  What do I do with all those things that I create? I sell them, usually by word of mouth.  I've also sold thing at our local hospital gift shop with all the proceeds going to the hospital.  In the beginning the donations were sent to the Susan G Komen Foundation.  But then I had a change of heart and decided to keep the money as local as possible.   I've thought about opening an ETSY shop but haven't quite made that step yet.  My goal for this year is to clear out that stash of stuff that I've been collecting over the
