Family vacation... sort of

At the last minute Dani ditched their plans to to to Minneapolis on vacation and asked if we would be interested in going to Branson with them..... of course we would!   We have toyed with the idea of doing a big family vacation over the summer and this might be a nice road test. Of course every vacation should have beer and plenty of it! There was a pool so of course we spent some time there!                                                                     Except for Papa, who never gets in the pool!! There was a trip to the zoo to see lots of fish, singing Dingoes, little monkeys and lots of snakes... And vacation would not be complete without a trip to a local quilt shop... and this one did not disappoint!   AJ and Karly came up to join us! And there was a boat and some lake swimming! And of course a trip to McDonald's with Mimi and Papa...ice cream was the best part!    And of course shopping with Mimi t

July Happenings...

Since these are catch up posts for the month of July, here are the other happenings.... What do you do with all of those flowers left over from a wedding?  You decorate your house with them! Hubby had a birthday...  And a visit was made to see great-grandpa in Lawrence.  Someone loved moving the bed up and down.  Three generations of the Pacumbaba clan These mug rugs were made for hard working colleagues who had dealt with the fire recovery and are still dealing with the fire recovery.  The inspiration for the mug rugs came from here . Mimi got a new house cleaner... And as a reward she got to spend lots of time at the pool... eating snacks of course! And Mimi and Papa did some baby sitting...  We did not know we weren't supposed to play with Mama's makeup... And another visit was made to celebrate dad's birthday... And since it is July, it is peach jam time! We got our bikes out for the first time in 3 years an

And then there was another quilt retreat...

July is now a much anticipated month for me...not because it's the height of summer but because that is the month that the Crazy Eights have another quilt retreat!  We did have someone come to the retreat with us this time and Elaine was a fabulous addition.  So I guess we are Crazy Eights + 1!! This time we were able to have a special evening tour of one of the local quilt stores complete with a limo, a driver and "special drinks". And this is why "Cotton Rainbow" got her name.... "Look guys pattern just has my name written all over it!!" Aside from all the fun that we were having there was some serious work being done. There are gals who bring multiple projects to work on! And Ange is one of them!  Look at those quilts! Debbie brought a quilt for Lori to work on and she managed to get it done and hung it up one night to surprise her! And Debbie got her wool applique quilt pieced together... Sue
