And the UFO for May Is....

I've been a little busy so there are lots of things for me to catch up on.  First of all I did not get much done on the UFO Challenge for April.  I did get some baby booties done and delivered.  I do hope that the moms will send me pictures of their little ones with cute little feet.

As far as quilting is concerned.. not much got accomplished in April, maybe May will be more productive.

The UFO for May is.....

And according to my lists this is what I have scheduled.....

The good news is that I started my LOVE quilt in March when I was on the quilt retreat.  The LOVE blocks are all done.  I have a few more small squares to cut up but then I should be able start sewing on it again.  Knitting is always difficult.  I should of worked on the cowl while I was on a conference last week but I needed to get some booties done for some upcoming new mamas.

Because of this week long conference,  I have had a chance to get lots of knitting done, which means that I have been sitting through lots and lots of presentations!  I got this little guy done in one morning of presentations from 9am-12:30... obviously I was hoping the faster that I knitted, the faster it would be over!

The other matching bootie is done and once I get the tie and pom poms on, it is headed for a new mama and her wee one in June.  I just love this yarn and I have enough to  make another pair.  I wish I would of kept the yarn information but I am just not very good at that!

April wasn't much of a month for crafting.  It was a busy month but I am hoping that May will give me more quilting/sewing time!

Here we are again...

As I started my blog adventures again, I decided to spend a few posts reflecting on life during the hieght of the pandemic.  But now, after a few months of various vaccines being available, and a few months of mask mandates being lifted and the hope of life returning to normal.... mask mandates are now coming into effect again.  There is a surge in variants of COVID, especially the "Delta variant".  There are increases in those testing postive and increases in those being hospitalized.  At this time only 45% of Kansans and 50% of the US population are vaccinated.  We are a long ways from herd immunity people!! On Friday K-State issued the mask mandate again just as employees are heading back to campus today. USD383 issued a mask mandate for everyone and as far as I can tell when kids return in the fall: I just feel like we are going backwards instead of forwards. Most of those that are being hospitalized are those who are not vaccinated and many of them ar...

October UFO

Another month has started which means it's another UFO.  I could get depressed about what I haven't been able to finish but instead I think I will be thankful for what I have finished!  So with that, what's up for October? What does this mean for me?   Well as far as sewing is concerned that means that my October UFO is the USA Map.   I'd love to get this done and put it upstairs in my themed "vacation room". And what does it mean for knitting?  I had chemo hats down but since those are all finished I modified my list to make knitted knockers.  How appropriate for breast cancer awareness month! This challenge has been good and I have been to focus on things in my stash.   Speaking of stash, Sherri from A Quilting Life blog had a great tutorial on a patchwork bag .  I had some mini charm packs that I have been trying to figure out what to do with and this was the perfect project. Sew the squares together add...

July Happenings...

Since these are catch up posts for the month of July, here are the other happenings.... What do you do with all of those flowers left over from a wedding?  You decorate your house with them! Hubby had a birthday...  And a visit was made to see great-grandpa in Lawrence.  Someone loved moving the bed up and down.  Three generations of the Pacumbaba clan These mug rugs were made for hard working colleagues who had dealt with the fire recovery and are still dealing with the fire recovery.  The inspiration for the mug rugs came from here . Mimi got a new house cleaner... And as a reward she got to spend lots of time at the pool... eating snacks of course! And Mimi and Papa did some baby sitting...  We did not know we weren't supposed to play with Mama's makeup... And another visit was made to celebrate dad's birthday... And since it is July, it is peach jam time! We got our bikes out for the first t...
