What's on the machine?

Since I got back from Huntsville it's been a mad rush to get some Etsy quilts done.

I finally got both of them shipped out this week.  Both buyers requested cotton so I used kona black and kona white in one and kona navy and kona snow on the other. Joanns carries quite a few of the kona basic colors and with coupons you can't beat that deal!!

Here's how the black and white one turned out. The backing is something that I have had in my inventory.

This customer requested personalization for her quilt and wanted a quick turn around... three weeks from the date she ordered it.  I am getting it shipped with very little time to spare so I hope she and her grand daughter enjoy it.

I've also been contemplating a new quilt design.  I have had quite a few requests for puppies so I may try this one out.

I hope that these are puppies that most people would recognize!

Here we are again...

As I started my blog adventures again, I decided to spend a few posts reflecting on life during the hieght of the pandemic.  But now, after a few months of various vaccines being available, and a few months of mask mandates being lifted and the hope of life returning to normal.... mask mandates are now coming into effect again.  There is a surge in variants of COVID, especially the "Delta variant".  There are increases in those testing postive and increases in those being hospitalized.  At this time only 45% of Kansans and 50% of the US population are vaccinated.  We are a long ways from herd immunity people!! On Friday K-State issued the mask mandate again just as employees are heading back to campus today. USD383 issued a mask mandate for everyone and as far as I can tell when kids return in the fall: I just feel like we are going backwards instead of forwards. Most of those that are being hospitalized are those who are not vaccinated and many of them ar...

And the UFO for May Is....

I've been a little busy so there are lots of things for me to catch up on.  First of all I did not get much done on the UFO Challenge for April.  I did get some baby booties done and delivered.  I do hope that the moms will send me pictures of their little ones with cute little feet. As far as quilting is concerned.. not much got accomplished in April, maybe May will be more productive. The UFO for May is..... And according to my lists this is what I have scheduled..... The good news is that I started my LOVE quilt in March when I was on the quilt retreat.  The LOVE blocks are all done.  I have a few more small squares to cut up but then I should be able start sewing on it again.  Knitting is always difficult.  I should of worked on the cowl while I was on a conference last week but I needed to get some booties done for some upcoming new mamas. Because of this week long conference,  I have had a chance to get lots of knittin...

It's March and what happened to February?

You Well it is March....which means that there is a new UFO Challenge.  And that number is....TWELVE! The Lone Star Quilt is a real UFO.  I must of started it years ago when the kids were really young and never managed to finish it. I bought this yarn about 5 years ago on my first trip to NY.  I was there over Labor Day weekend and Sarah took me to the Lion Bran NY Flagship store.  I manged to use up most of the yarn I bought there but still have a couple of balls that will be used for a wonderful cowl. I had a bunch of things that I wanted to blog about but just didn't get it done.  So what else got finished in February?  Well here's a quick overview of what I had been working on since my last post: My daughter had three baby showers.  And I thought why not try to get all of those congrats and well-wishes into one place and what better way than in a signature quilt?  I used this tutorial for the pattern. For the ...
