Another trip last fall , this time Boston

As soon as I got home from NY last November, I turned around and left for Boston, to visit the Princess.

It was so nice to see her again.  I came in on Thursday and left on Sunday.  It was another short visit, but we sure packed a lot in!

It was bitterly cold in Boston, in fact it was the coldest all year and they were setting records for low temperatures in the evening.  But that did not stop us from venturing out!

On Friday she took me on a tour of her school and her classroom.  And as we were leaving I got to meet the teacher she is working with.  The school is so convenient,  just a short 15 minute walk from their apartment.

We also explored Brookline a neighborhood that is just a few blocks from them.  It is full of wonderful restaurants and cute boutiques.  We found a knitting store and some wonderful children's stores.  It was so hard not to buy a bunch of things for the grand!!

We stopped and had lunch, and thawed out!  Then we headed over to the Isabella Gardner Museum.  It is a favorite of one of our good friends so we both wanted to see it.  Our initial impressions was just how grand it was.  The building opened up into a center garden area that was just fantastic.  She had the entire thing built to house her art, antique, furniture collections.

The courtyard was just beautiful and the best part of the whole place!

The next day was Veteran's Day and was it just as cold!

We had to move out of the shade to stay warm and got a great picture with the flag!

And to compensate for the cold we did manage to find a wonderful bakery!!

Drew met us in the afternoon and we shopped at our favorite store..Marshall's!  Then we met up with Jordan and had a great afternoon watching the K-State football game. We then had a wonderful Italian dinner.  It was the perfect ending to a wonderful weekend!

Here we are again...

As I started my blog adventures again, I decided to spend a few posts reflecting on life during the hieght of the pandemic.  But now, after a few months of various vaccines being available, and a few months of mask mandates being lifted and the hope of life returning to normal.... mask mandates are now coming into effect again.  There is a surge in variants of COVID, especially the "Delta variant".  There are increases in those testing postive and increases in those being hospitalized.  At this time only 45% of Kansans and 50% of the US population are vaccinated.  We are a long ways from herd immunity people!! On Friday K-State issued the mask mandate again just as employees are heading back to campus today. USD383 issued a mask mandate for everyone and as far as I can tell when kids return in the fall: I just feel like we are going backwards instead of forwards. Most of those that are being hospitalized are those who are not vaccinated and many of them ar...

And the UFO for May Is....

I've been a little busy so there are lots of things for me to catch up on.  First of all I did not get much done on the UFO Challenge for April.  I did get some baby booties done and delivered.  I do hope that the moms will send me pictures of their little ones with cute little feet. As far as quilting is concerned.. not much got accomplished in April, maybe May will be more productive. The UFO for May is..... And according to my lists this is what I have scheduled..... The good news is that I started my LOVE quilt in March when I was on the quilt retreat.  The LOVE blocks are all done.  I have a few more small squares to cut up but then I should be able start sewing on it again.  Knitting is always difficult.  I should of worked on the cowl while I was on a conference last week but I needed to get some booties done for some upcoming new mamas. Because of this week long conference,  I have had a chance to get lots of knittin...
