Happy New Year.. a little late

I've been meaning to write this post for awhile but I feel like I was so far behind I didn't know where to start.

Well another year has come and gone.  I was doing pretty good on the posts and then the holidays happened! And then it seemed like such a big task to capture all that has happened.  I've decided I've postponed long enough so I am just going to blog and on days that I don't have anything to blog about I'll just back track.

I am not going to make any resolutions or promises for the year, I know better.  But I will try hard to blog so that I can keep track of the projects that I am working on.

I am doing the APQ UFO Challenge again.  I made great progress last year and it did help me stay focused. Here is what was accomplished last year.  I realized that some of the projects that I initially wanted to do at the beginning of the year maybe didn't seem to have the same importance as the year progressed and I am ok with that.

Six projects done out of twelve.  I am pretty happy with that as that is six projects that I don't have in my UFO pile!

Seven projects out of twelve was finished.  As with the quilts this is seven things that aren't on my UFO list.  However things like the chemo hats and baby booties will always be on my list.

So whats on the agenda for next year?

The number for January was #12.  I've made progress and the good news is that there is still about another week left this month!

And the UFO for May Is....

I've been a little busy so there are lots of things for me to catch up on.  First of all I did not get much done on the UFO Challenge for April.  I did get some baby booties done and delivered.  I do hope that the moms will send me pictures of their little ones with cute little feet. As far as quilting is concerned.. not much got accomplished in April, maybe May will be more productive. The UFO for May is..... And according to my lists this is what I have scheduled..... The good news is that I started my LOVE quilt in March when I was on the quilt retreat.  The LOVE blocks are all done.  I have a few more small squares to cut up but then I should be able start sewing on it again.  Knitting is always difficult.  I should of worked on the cowl while I was on a conference last week but I needed to get some booties done for some upcoming new mamas. Because of this week long conference,  I have had a chance to get lots of knittin...

Here we are again...

As I started my blog adventures again, I decided to spend a few posts reflecting on life during the hieght of the pandemic.  But now, after a few months of various vaccines being available, and a few months of mask mandates being lifted and the hope of life returning to normal.... mask mandates are now coming into effect again.  There is a surge in variants of COVID, especially the "Delta variant".  There are increases in those testing postive and increases in those being hospitalized.  At this time only 45% of Kansans and 50% of the US population are vaccinated.  We are a long ways from herd immunity people!! On Friday K-State issued the mask mandate again just as employees are heading back to campus today. USD383 issued a mask mandate for everyone and as far as I can tell when kids return in the fall: I just feel like we are going backwards instead of forwards. Most of those that are being hospitalized are those who are not vaccinated and many of them ar...

Stash bust!

I was asked by my good friend and hair stylist if I would make a apron for a bake sale they were having for Earth Day. I had fabric in my stash that I had purchased specifically for aprons but hadn't taken the time to make them. These are my two favorite patterns! Aside from the aprons, I've been busy learning how to alter patterns to fit me better. Sarah Gunn of "Goodbye Valentino" is a blog that I recently discovered and have found her to be very inspirational. She had a great post on a Craftsy Class that she was reviewing "Sew the Perfect Fit" by Lynda Maynard. On her posts she gives a pretty good review and is offering a 40% deal. I had already joined Craftsy but hadn't really been interested in any of the classes. After reading Sarah's post, what did I find in my inbox but a coupon from Craftsy for any online class for $19! Well I took advantage of that coupon and purchased the "Sew the Perfect Fit" class!! Rather than u...
