It's February!

As always when the month ends and another starts you always ask yourself...where did the time go?

I made a little progress on my January UFOs.  I am hoping to finish up this weekend and I'll show pictures then.

What's the number for February?

And what is that for me?

The Sunflower Quilt/Wall Hanging was on last year's UFO list.  So I am determined to get it done this year
We put the Bomber Jacket on hold last year because Madden was little and I wasn't sure if the parents were still in love with it.  Well I mentioned it last night and they are excited.  Lilac was the color of choice and wouldn't you know it..that is in my stash!!

Look at this jacket... doesn't it just scream cuteness, specifically in lilac, light grey and light green?

Or how about this little piece of cuteness?

Light purple with grey accent?

I also decided to do a more practical challenge this year.  I am going to try the 2018MakeNine challenge.  Basically throughout the year you will make 9 outfits that can be a staple in your wardrobe.  I have bought so much fabric from NY when I have visited and I really have not done very much with them.  And last November I had ordered from three shops and all I have done is moved the fabric from the box to the shelf.  I've got some patterns picked out and hopefully I can blog about this soon.

And the UFO for May Is....

I've been a little busy so there are lots of things for me to catch up on.  First of all I did not get much done on the UFO Challenge for April.  I did get some baby booties done and delivered.  I do hope that the moms will send me pictures of their little ones with cute little feet. As far as quilting is concerned.. not much got accomplished in April, maybe May will be more productive. The UFO for May is..... And according to my lists this is what I have scheduled..... The good news is that I started my LOVE quilt in March when I was on the quilt retreat.  The LOVE blocks are all done.  I have a few more small squares to cut up but then I should be able start sewing on it again.  Knitting is always difficult.  I should of worked on the cowl while I was on a conference last week but I needed to get some booties done for some upcoming new mamas. Because of this week long conference,  I have had a chance to get lots of knittin...

Here we are again...

As I started my blog adventures again, I decided to spend a few posts reflecting on life during the hieght of the pandemic.  But now, after a few months of various vaccines being available, and a few months of mask mandates being lifted and the hope of life returning to normal.... mask mandates are now coming into effect again.  There is a surge in variants of COVID, especially the "Delta variant".  There are increases in those testing postive and increases in those being hospitalized.  At this time only 45% of Kansans and 50% of the US population are vaccinated.  We are a long ways from herd immunity people!! On Friday K-State issued the mask mandate again just as employees are heading back to campus today. USD383 issued a mask mandate for everyone and as far as I can tell when kids return in the fall: I just feel like we are going backwards instead of forwards. Most of those that are being hospitalized are those who are not vaccinated and many of them ar...

Stash bust!

I was asked by my good friend and hair stylist if I would make a apron for a bake sale they were having for Earth Day. I had fabric in my stash that I had purchased specifically for aprons but hadn't taken the time to make them. These are my two favorite patterns! Aside from the aprons, I've been busy learning how to alter patterns to fit me better. Sarah Gunn of "Goodbye Valentino" is a blog that I recently discovered and have found her to be very inspirational. She had a great post on a Craftsy Class that she was reviewing "Sew the Perfect Fit" by Lynda Maynard. On her posts she gives a pretty good review and is offering a 40% deal. I had already joined Craftsy but hadn't really been interested in any of the classes. After reading Sarah's post, what did I find in my inbox but a coupon from Craftsy for any online class for $19! Well I took advantage of that coupon and purchased the "Sew the Perfect Fit" class!! Rather than u...
