I have an addiction....

I have been so good at avoiding buying more fabric and more kits.  I am good that way...and then one day the dam opens up and it's like I am buying stuff left and right.  Such was the weekend for me!

It started with Friday's inspirations and that darn quilt kit in my Etsy store.

Usually they sit in my Etsy store and the desire for the quilt goes away....not this time!

And then V and Co. came out with another pre-order for this quilt....Walk in The Park, Ombre quilt

I had seen this earlier and by the time I had looked for it, she was all sold out of the quilt kits.  So guess what I did this time...I ordered it before it sold out!  Of course I did!

And then we went to a wedding this past weekend and of course I found quilt store and of course all I was going to do was to "LOOK" and of course this all just fell into my lap!

Quilting Therapy in Liberty, MO is wonderful quilt shop.  They don't have much fabric but what they have is wonderful.  I would say that most of the quilts they had displayed had a very modern twist to it.  I had seen the Thrive panel online but it was the first time I had seen it in public.

I had seen some of the things people were making out of it when it the market.  This quilt was one that Natallia and her mother Kathleen had designed.

But the one I really like the most were these placemats.  There are 6 quote panels in all.  I thought that the placemat pattern would be perfect for a smaller wall quilt.

The layer cake of Grunge Hits the Spot would be perfect for one of my Layer Cake Recipe Books:

Well there you have it.  I went from July to December of last year and only bought one quilt kit!  It is March and I have since added 4 more quilt kits!

It must be the fact that I sold 3 quilts on ETSY and now all that money is burning a hole in my pocket.  Well until I get some quilts done...I am finished buying anything else.....
well so she says.....

And the UFO for May Is....

I've been a little busy so there are lots of things for me to catch up on.  First of all I did not get much done on the UFO Challenge for April.  I did get some baby booties done and delivered.  I do hope that the moms will send me pictures of their little ones with cute little feet. As far as quilting is concerned.. not much got accomplished in April, maybe May will be more productive. The UFO for May is..... And according to my lists this is what I have scheduled..... The good news is that I started my LOVE quilt in March when I was on the quilt retreat.  The LOVE blocks are all done.  I have a few more small squares to cut up but then I should be able start sewing on it again.  Knitting is always difficult.  I should of worked on the cowl while I was on a conference last week but I needed to get some booties done for some upcoming new mamas. Because of this week long conference,  I have had a chance to get lots of knittin...

Here we are again...

As I started my blog adventures again, I decided to spend a few posts reflecting on life during the hieght of the pandemic.  But now, after a few months of various vaccines being available, and a few months of mask mandates being lifted and the hope of life returning to normal.... mask mandates are now coming into effect again.  There is a surge in variants of COVID, especially the "Delta variant".  There are increases in those testing postive and increases in those being hospitalized.  At this time only 45% of Kansans and 50% of the US population are vaccinated.  We are a long ways from herd immunity people!! On Friday K-State issued the mask mandate again just as employees are heading back to campus today. USD383 issued a mask mandate for everyone and as far as I can tell when kids return in the fall: I just feel like we are going backwards instead of forwards. Most of those that are being hospitalized are those who are not vaccinated and many of them ar...

Stash bust!

I was asked by my good friend and hair stylist if I would make a apron for a bake sale they were having for Earth Day. I had fabric in my stash that I had purchased specifically for aprons but hadn't taken the time to make them. These are my two favorite patterns! Aside from the aprons, I've been busy learning how to alter patterns to fit me better. Sarah Gunn of "Goodbye Valentino" is a blog that I recently discovered and have found her to be very inspirational. She had a great post on a Craftsy Class that she was reviewing "Sew the Perfect Fit" by Lynda Maynard. On her posts she gives a pretty good review and is offering a 40% deal. I had already joined Craftsy but hadn't really been interested in any of the classes. After reading Sarah's post, what did I find in my inbox but a coupon from Craftsy for any online class for $19! Well I took advantage of that coupon and purchased the "Sew the Perfect Fit" class!! Rather than u...
